Taste of Virgin Gorda

Nestled in the heart of the British Virgin Islands, the charming island of Virgin Gorda transforms into a culinary paradise in March for the much-anticipated Taste of the BVI Virgin Gorda.

The festival celebrates the Caribbean’s culinary scene and brims with delectable activities, from engaging cooking demonstrations by local and guest chefs to tantalizing food tastings that capture the essence of the islands’ flavors. Attendees are invited to savor a spectrum of dishes, including fresh seafood like lobster and conch, and traditional favorites such as roti, johnnycakes, and the hearty goat water stew.

Culinary competitions add an exciting flair, where chefs and amateur cooks vie for titles in categories such as best local dish and most creative use of indigenous ingredients. For those keen to deepen their culinary knowledge, workshops on sustainable cooking practices and traditional food preparation methods offer enriching insights.

The festival’s allure extends beyond its culinary offerings. Live music performances, featuring the rhythmic beats of calypso, reggae, and soca, set the festive tone, while cultural shows highlight the island’s storied heritage through traditional dance and storytelling. Families will find ample entertainment with games and crafts for children, ensuring a joyous experience for all ages.

Adding to the festival’s charm are the artisan vendor stalls, where local craftspeople display handmade jewelry, crafts, and souvenirs, perfect for capturing the spirit of the islands.

Taste of the BVI Virgin Gorda is more than a festival; it is a celebration of community, culture, and culinary excellence. Join in this epicurean revelry and immerse yourself in the flavors and traditions of the British Virgin Islands, where every bite tells a story.
